  • Monstera adansonii, also known as the “Swiss Cheese Vine”, is an easy-to-grow houseplant with show-stopper foliage. Each leaf is full of natural oval-shaped holes of the fenestration type. Botanists believe that the holes in its leaves help the plant to stand up to high winds and allow light to pass through to lower parts of the plant in its natural environment.

Swiss Cheese Vine loves to climb, and when provided a moss pole, will reward you with larger leaves. Alternately, this vine makes a lovely hanging plant as without support, the vines will cascade down the sides of the pot.

The Monstera Adansonii grows best in a well-draining Aroid mix using bark, perlite, peat moss, and charcoal. Keep your plant in bright indirect light and humidity above 60%. When watering, make sure that the potting mix of your Adansonii remains slightly moist and water about once a week. The ideal temperature range is between 64° – 81 °F (18 to 27 °C). Use well-balanced fertilizer at half-strength with an NPK ratio of 20-20-20.
